Consultation on admissions arrangements for September 2024

Wimborne Academy Trust is running a consultation on the School Admission Arrangements for 2024/2025 with effect from Monday 12th December 2022 to Friday 27th January 2023 for the following schools:

  • Queen Elizabeth’s School
  • Allenbourn Middle School
  • Lockyer’s Middle School
  • Emmanuel CE Middle School
  • St Michael’s CE Middle School
  • Merley First School
  • Hillside First School
  • Verwood CE First School
  • Colehill First School
  • Hayeswood First School
  • St John’s CE First School
  • Witchampton CE First School
  • Pamphill First School

There are no changes to Published Admission Numbers (PANs).

There are no changes to the published oversubscription criteria for 2023/2024 other than at Queen Elizabeth’s School where we clarify that siblings in years 9-13 are considered for oversubscription prioritisation rather years 9-11 as in previous policies.

In all policies we have added further details of the process for applications for the admission of children outside their normal year group.

In all First Schools we have clarified and simplified language on the admission of children below statutory school age and on deferred entry.

For Hillside, Verwood CE and Witchampton CE First Schools and for St Michael’s CE and Emmanuel CE Middle Schools we have included reference to the school’s participation in Dorset Council’s in-year fair access co-ordination scheme.

Copies of the draft Admissions Arrangements and a copy of this consultation notice are available to view from each school’s website through a link to the Wimborne Academy Trust website.

Responses to the consultation must be submitted either in writing to Ross Bowell, Director of Resources, Wimborne Academy Trust, c/o Allenbourn Middle School, East Borough, Wimborne BH21 1PL or by email to ross.bowell@wimborneacademytrust.org by Friday 27th January 2023.

Upon the conclusion of the consultation period all responses will be considered carefully and a report will be presented to the Trust Board prior to the determination deadline on 28th February 2023.

The key dates for the consultation are set out below:

  • Consultation begins – 12th December 2022

  • Determine Admission Arrangements - 28th February 2023
  • Publish Admission Arrangements - 15th March 2023
  • Deadline for Objections to Office of the School’s Adjudicator - 15th May 2023
