School Improvement
Wimborne Academy Trust has a duty to ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential. The Trust has a clear and transparent strategy which supports all schools to achieve excellence.
School Improvement Strategy: Simple
Principles
-
High challenge, low threat
-
100% clarity
-
Over communicate
Simple is not synonymous for easy and complex is not synonymous for clever. Being able to share complex things in a simple (but not over-simplified) way requires maturity and clear understanding of the situation.
The aim is to allow staff to focus on what makes a difference. Keeping the main thing the main thing.
Start with Why
Sinek explains that 'Why' is probably the most important message that an organisation or individual can communicate as this is what inspires others to action. 'Start With Why' is how you explain your purpose and the reason you exist and behave as you do.
How
Our common core values of Excellence, Collaboration and Respect align to our approach. Excellence in the form of simplicity to deliver success. Collaboration in the form of consistency, only achieved if we work together. Respect, being the attribute that will allow us to challenge each other, to not become distracted and to deliver shared goals. We decide if the work is completed centrally as an organisation, collaboratively in groups or at school level.
What
The activity to be undertaken, and by whom, articulated with complete clarity through our improvement plans and shared across the organisation. SMART targets enable us to track our success against clear priorities.
